## Fees

Beyond the Binary Psychotherapy and Consulting, PLLC is a private-pay practice, meaning clients pay the full session fee at the time of service. All session fees are in line with [FAIR Health Consumer's](https://www.fairhealthconsumer.org/medical) service prices for Arlington, VA. I do not participate with any insurance panels in order to ensure our fair compensation and provision of the best quality of care. Clients are provided with a superbill (invoice) to submit to their insurance companies and request reimbursement from their out-of-network (OON) benefits. After applicable deductibles, many clients with OON benefits recoup 30%-90% back from their insurance. Please see FAQ’s for more info on determining your out of network insurance benefits.

### Individual Therapy

- Initial intake session 60 minutes $250
- Individual psychotherapy session 50 minutes $220
- Individual psychotherapy session 75 minutes $270
- Individual psychotherapy session 90 minutes $320

### Gender Affirming Surgery Letters

60-90 minute evaluation + written letter and any necessary updates/copies* $250

> *up to one year following initial date of service. Substantial updates after one year will require a brief re-evaluation at a reduced rate.

### Clinical Consultation/Supervision

- 60 minutes (single/first consultation) $200
- 60 minutes (additional consultation) $175
- Please inquire for rates for unlicensed clinicians requiring one time consultation or ongoing supervision for licensure.

## FAQs

### What is a Good Faith Estimate under the No Surprises Act?

You have the right to a [Good Faith Estimate](https://www.cms.gov/medical-bill-rights/know-your-rights/no-insurance) (GFE) of what your services may cost if you are uninsured or not using insurance benefits. A GFE is a list of expected charges before you get health care items or services (procedures, supporting care) from a provider or facility. You can dispute a bill if one of your providers or facilities charged at least $400 more than their estimate.

### How do I know if I have out-of-network (OON) benefits?

You may be able to find your OON benefits outlined on your insurance plan’s online portal. Otherwise, you can call your insurance and use this **[guide](https://cdn.sanity.io/files/mlla0c55/production/7cf34add86114428addf8677be68aa4aa2127132.pdf)** to ask the questions needed to determine your benefits and estimate cost of care. ### Do you offer pro-bono or sliding scale?

I have a very limited number of pro bono/sliding scale slots for psychotherapy that are currently full. You are welcome to request to be added to the waitlist, however, there is no estimated time as to when a slot will become available. Please see the resource page if you are interested in other low cost support spaces.

### What methods of payment do you accept?

I accept all major credit/debit, as well as HSA, HRA, and FSA cards. I also accept Zelle payments. Payment is taken at the time of service and your card is stored in a HIPAA compliant portal.

### What is your cancellation policy?

Sessions must be canceled with at least 24 hours notice. Appointments canceled outside of the cancellation window, or those unattended without notice (no-show) will be charged the full session fee.

### Do you offer in-person or telehealth options?

I offer telehealth for folks located in Virginia and [PsyPact participating states](https://psypact.gov/mpage/psypactmap).
